🎃👻 Beat 56 Community Safety Message - Halloween & Bonfire Night 🎆🔥 As Halloween and Bonfire Night approach, Beat 56 officers would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable time. These events can be great fun for families and communities, but please take a few simple steps to help keep yourselves and others safe. 🎃 Halloween Advice✅ Only visit houses that are clearly welcoming trick-or-treaters. Look for decorations, pumpkins, or a displayed "Trick or Treaters Welcome" sign. ✅ Parents should ensure children know where they are going and are accompanied by a responsible adult where appropriate. ✅ Wear bright or reflective clothing when out after dark and carry a torch so you can be easily seen by motorists. ✅ Respect people's property. Throwing eggs, flour, fireworks or causing damage is not harmless fun and could be treated as criminal damage or anti-social behaviour. ✅ Be mindful of elderly or vulnerable residents who may not wish to participate. Residents who do not wish to receive trick-or-treaters are invited to display the attached "No Trick or Treaters Please" poster. 🎆 Bonfire Night Safety✅ Purchase fireworks only from reputable retailers. ✅ Always follow the Firework Code and read instructions carefully. ✅ Never throw fireworks, aim them at people, animals, vehicles or property. ✅ Keep pets indoors where possible and check on neighbours who may be affected by noise. ✅ Consider attending organised public displays, which are often the safest way to enjoy fireworks. ✅ Never attempt to relight a firework that has failed to go off. 🚔 Anti-Social BehaviourWe want everyone to enjoy the celebrations responsibly. Reports of anti-social behaviour, criminal damage, nuisance motorcycles, misuse of fireworks, or other concerns can be reported via online reporting or by calling 101. Always call 999 in an emergency or where a crime is in progress. 🤝 Looking Out for Each OtherPlease be considerate of your neighbours, especially young children, older residents, shift workers and pet owners. A little consideration goes a long way in ensuring everyone can enjoy the season safely. From all of us on Beat 56, have a safe, enjoyable and community-minded Halloween and Bonfire Night. #Beat56 #NeighbourhoodPolicing #HalloweenSafety #BonfireNightSafety #CommunitySafety #Beat56News | ||
